Retail Specialist Supporting Firm’s Growing Tri-State Area Practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., July 18, 2018 – Retail leasing specialist Alana Friedman has joined Cushman & Wakefield as a senior associate based in East Rutherford. With six years of industry experience, the Fort Lee, N.J., resident is supporting the commercial real estate services firm’s growing Tri-State area retail practice.

Friedman’s expertise spans both retail tenant and landlord representation in New Jersey and the larger New York metropolitan area. “Alana brings extensive knowledge, great energy and a passion for the retail sector,” noted Andrew Judd, New Jersey market leader. “She will be a great asset as we enhance our service to regional property owners and brands looking to enter and expand in the Garden State.”

Friedman comes to Cushman & Wakefield from RKF and also previously worked at The Goldstein Group. “The move to Cushman & Wakefield is a natural step for me,” she said. “This company’s growing retail platform, the people here and the larger corporate culture are a great fit. Additionally, the state of retail in New Jersey – a market that is rich with opportunity – makes this an exciting place to be.”

A licensed salesperson in the State of New Jersey, Friedman is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and serves as a New Jersey committee member for that organization’s Next Generation Program. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Rhode Island.

Alana Friedman’s on-boarding marks the Cushman & Wakefield New Jersey office’s most recent retail hire on the heels of David Townes hiring late last year. The firm continues to grow its national retail platform, which includes more than 800 professionals and is ranked #1 in the U.S. During this critical time when the traditional retail, e-commerce and industrial needs of clients are converging more than ever before, the firm is committed to developing the service line throughout the Tri-State region, hiring brokers in New Jersey, Connecticut, Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.
