New York, NY – May 05, 2017 – Cushman & Wakefield announced today that Executive Managing Director Jared Thal was awarded “Alumni of the Year” by the University of Connecticut’s Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies, at the university’s Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 27th, 2017.

The “Alumni of the Year” award honors UConn alumni who have accomplished much in the industry and have provided outstanding service to the university’s real estate program.

“Mr. Thal’s professional accomplishments, along with his ongoing support of the mission to our Real Estate Center, made him an obvious choice for the award this year,” said John L. Glascock, Director of the UConn Real Estate Program. “We wish him continued success for his future in this industry.”

“It is a tremendous honor to be selected by my alma mater for this award,” said Thal. “The university’s real estate program provided a great foundation for me to begin my career in the industry, and with this recognition I hope to inspire current students who are interested in becoming real estate professionals.”

After earning his Bachelors in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business in 2004, Thal held positions with Cushman & Wakefield, Trammell Crow Company and CBRE, before leading the New York Strategic Consulting Practice for Cassidy Turley, a legacy Cushman & Wakefield firm. He also continued his education, earning an M.B.A in Operations & Strategy from New York University in 2009. Currently, he serves as Executive Managing Director, co-leading the Tri-State Strategic Advisory Practice for Cushman & Wakefield.

The University of Connecticut’s Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies is dedicated to cutting edge research and the training of skilled individuals for all segments of the industry.
