The Intersection of Food and Real Estate Central in Exploration and Learning Program

PEAPACK-GLADSTONE, N.J., April 27, 2018 – The historic 90 Acres Farm in Peapack-Gladstone will serve as the setting for an upcoming ULI NNJ event, “Cultivating Development: Sowing the Seeds for Innovation.” Slated for Tuesday, May 15, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., the program will focus on the intersection of food and real estate, featuring learning, exploring and a focus on trends and related best practices.

“Growing interest in and awareness of the production and sourcing of fresh, local food is spawning innovation and new direction in the real estate development arena,” noted ULI NNJ District Chairperson Brian Whitmer, an executive director and member of Cushman & Wakefield’s East Rutherford, N.J, investment sales team. “This event has been developed to appeal to developers, investors, food entrepreneurs and advocates, and other real estate professionals.”

Program plans include a behind-the-scenes walking tour of 90 Acres’ 12-acre sustainable farm and state-of-the-art cooking school, and a chef’s table three-course dinner in the farm’s world-class restaurant. Presentations will provide insight from the local farming community, as well as food entrepreneurs and others as to the newest technologies, trends and incentives being employed by the public and private sectors in the effort to maximize food production while serving rural and urban communities alike.

Confirmed speakers include Daron Joffee (Leichtag Foundation), Maureen McAvey (McAvey Consultants), Richard Cotton (Asbury Farms), Sam Schatz (Aerofarms), Jim Zullo (Tim Haahs & Associates), Anthony Capace (Elijah’s Promise), and Susan Payne (NJ State Agriculture Development Committee).

90 Acres Farm is located at 2 Main Street in Peapack-Gladstone. The program cost is $215 for ULI members, $290 for prospective ULI members. Attendees will receive ULI’s “Cultivating Development” publication.
